The Atlanta Braves battle the Miami Marlins in Game 2 of the series on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 7:10 p.m. ET at Marlins Park in Miami, FL. Heading into the star of Week 2 of the 2013 MLB regular season, Bleacher Report sports columnist Joel Reuter predicts the season outlook team power rankings. The Marlins head into the 2013 regular season at the no 5 spot - as Reuter points out, "The Braves are off to a hot start, as they took two of three from the division-rival Phillies before sweeping the Cubs to close out the week. Admittedly not the toughest schedule to start out the year, but a promising start nonetheless. Justin Upton has opened the season with a bang, leading the team with five home runs and seven RBI. The team recently lost Freddie Freeman to a strained oblique, and Chris Johnson will fill in for him at first base. The pitching staff remains one of the best in baseball, as they rank fourth in the MLB with a 2.67 ERA. Provided rookie Julio Teheran can turn things around after an uninspired first start, the team looks set top to bottom moving forward."
Atlanta currently holds a 6-1 winning record.
The Marlins snag the meager no 29 overall spot (out of 30 teams). According to Reuter, "The Marlins were swept by the Nationals to open the season, as they managed just one run over the three-game series. Slugger Giancarlo Stanton, expected to be one of the team's few bright spots, is off to a rough start. He's gone just 4-for-22 while striking out 10 times, and he'll need to get it going if the Marlins offense is going to have any chance of being competitive. Jose Fernandez, the team's 20-year-old rookie right-hander, looked sharp in his big league debut. He went five innings and allowed three hits and one run while striking out eight."
Opposite of the Braves, Miami heads into Tuesday's game with a 1-6 winning record.
The ball game will be broadcasted live on local channels FSS and FS-F, but fans can listen in on the radio at 1340 WGAU, ESPN 730, WCCP, 790 The Ticket, and ESPN 760.
