THE AMERICANS Recap Episode 9 'Safe House' (SPOILERS) Preview Episode 10 'Only You' [VIDEOS]: Beeman is Out For Vengeance!

Last week's episode of FX's The Americans, "Safe House," had viewers on the edges of their seats as Elizabeth and Phillip's personal problems seemed to be climaxing and their affinities to the motherland were tested, as usual. What does last week's exciting ending leave for us in this week's episode, "Only You," and what can we expect from Beeman? (SPOILERS to follow)

In "Safe House," Elizabeth and Phillip decide to separate, with Phillip moving out of their home leaving their children to be emotionally scarred. This approach of opening the episode with the separation definitely left the rest of the episode pretty open. The audience starts to think that this will be an episode focusing on the marital problems of the Jennings and perhaps we forgot about the previous week's blunder of a mission.

Yes, they botched a mission to protect the United States scientists from an assassin in order to avoid escalation in the Cold War. So when the FBI announces that they are going to take out a member of the KGB, we are brought back into the intense factor of the show. Beeman wants nothing to do with taking out Arkady until his partner Amador goes missing. Then he goes crazy. After a series of flashbacks, we see Beeman's motivation for wanting to get his partner back. Unfortunately, Amador is a jealous ex and played tough guy to the wrong dude. Yes, Phillip is working Amador's ex and his coworker Martha. So when he confronts him in the parking lot and gets a little crazy with a knife, he pays for it and finds himself in the hands of the KGB. Plus Elizabeth's wig was hilarious throughout the whole interrogation process.

So instead of getting Arkady, Beeman decides to capture and question his assistant, Vlad. So when Amador tells Phil and Elizabeth the plan to capture Arkady but then Vlad turns up missing, the Jennings stop trusting him, which leads to his slow and painful death of bleeding out.

So this leads us with an increasingly tense tenth episode tonight. According to the official synopsis from FX for tonight's episode entitled "Only You," we are in for quite the ride:

Stan pursues a lead that puts him on the trail to one of Gregory's crewmembers, closing the gap between him and Elizabeth, and reigniting some of the deepest conflicts between her and Philip.
