Season 6 of Game of Thrones is merely a few weeks away and it's time for fans to get excited over HBO's return to Westeros, something that also means the members of the show's cast has begun to make the rounds for interviews. Lena Headey, aka spiteful Cersei Lannister, is saying her character and twin brother/lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) are getting even weirder this season!
Headey recently told Entertainment Weekly that the relationship between the Lannister twins would be hitting an "all-time weird level" as well as "juicy and it's so f**king dark," which is saying a lot.
For years, Jaime and Cersei have had an incestuous relationship that produced three children, and their time together has even included a controversial rape scene next to the corpse of their eldest -- so to say they're getting darker is more than a little uncomfortable.
As far as what lies ahead for her character, Headey seemed excited at the possibilities. By the end of last year's season, Cersei had been found guilty of incest and treason and was forced to walk nude across King's Landing while the crowds yelled at her and threw things her way. With her last shred of dignity being taken from her, it's no surprise she's gotten even feistier now.
"It's probably her most interesting season," Headey said of Cersei, who's now planning her vengeance against those who humiliated her. "She really has nothing to lose and she has everything to gain from a horrible position she finds herself in."
As fan site Winter Is Coming reports, while in the books, Cersei was also taken on the Walk of Shame, there are little things that vary from the original source material: for example, in the books, her only daughter with Jaime, Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free), is disfigured instead of killed.
Aside from that, Jaime isn't in King's Landing in the books, so now that the show goes off on its own path, it's likely that he'll be helping his sister/lover in her new plan.
The sixth season of Game of Thrones will premiere on HBO on April 24.
