This weekend Gal Gadot makes her début as Diana Prince in the highly anticipated superhero showdown Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the first film openly teasing the DC Cinematic Universe. Besides promoting the film, Gadot is also shooting the Wonder Woman stand-alone film -- and here's the first look of her as an Amazon warrior alongside Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen!
Entertainment Weekly's celebrating the release of DC's big screen superhero showdown with a new special centering around the character, as production for the 2017 Wonder Woman movie continues. That means that, for the first time, the look of the Amazon warriors of Themyscira has been revealed, and the three women that raised Wonder Woman look no less than amazing.
Queen Hippolyta, Diana's mother, is played by Nielsen, best known for her roles in films like Gladiator and The Devil's Advocate. She co-raised Diana alongside Antiope (House of Cards Golden Globe-winning actress Wright) and her lieutenant Melanippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli, from Turist).

The three loving (and immortal) women have differing styles of motherhood, and each of them wants something different for Diana: Hippolyta wants her to be shielded from the evil ways of the Man's World, but Antiope wants her to train and become a great warrior.
As Fusion points out, however, there's one key Wonder Woman character strangely distant from the photo, and seemingly the film's cast: Philippus, the woman who teaches her what it means to be an Amazon, and a major black female superhero in the DC universe.
The new photo also introduces fans to the armor won by the rest of the Amazons and, of course, it follows the same design as the outfit worn by Gadot, taking a few cues from the classic costume -- and yes, that includes the high heels.
"I, as a woman, want Wonder Woman to be hot as hell, fight badass, and look great at the same time -- the same way men want Superman to have huge pecs and an impractically big body," Patty Jenkins, the film's director, told the outlet. "That makes them feel like the hero they want to be. And my hero, in my head, has really long legs."
The stand-alone Wonder Woman film, also co-starring Chris Pine and David Thewlis, will be in theaters on June 23, 2017.
