Kate Middleton Baby Bump, Due Date [PHOTO]: Pregnant Duchess and Prince William Closer Than Ever, Catherine Becomes Godmother to Royal Princess Cruise Line

It looks like Kate Middleton might be too busy to respond to Kim Kardashian's personal letter about their mutual pregnancies because she is busy getting closer to her husband Prince William. Reports are stating that, after last week's visit to Scotland together, the royal couple have noticeably been getting closer than they ever have been before. This, of course, is all thanks to the Duke and Duchess' upcoming first child together, who is due to be delivered sometime in July. Despite her marriage having a steady course of happiness, the 31-year-old Kate has also become a godmother! Well, to a cruise ship, but it is still an exciting role to take on.

Just like Princess Diana and the recently deceased former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the Duchess of Cambridge will share in a British tradition of christening a ship. Kate will be the godmother to the new Royal Princess cruise line, performing the christening ceremony in Southampton, Britain, on June 13. By then, she will be about a month away from giving birth to the yet-to-be-named prince or princess. Clearly, Catherine won't get to enjoy the champaigne bottle used to christen the ship.

Her late mother-in-law, Diana, christened the original Royal Princess ship in 1984. Thatcher, who died this week, christened the Regal Princess in 1991. Kate's ship is apparently Royal Princess' biggest and can hold up to 3,600 passengers.

Kate Middleton & Prince William Closer Than Ever

Sources close to the Palace have been reporting that Kate and William are closer than ever. Literally.

Royal photographer Mark Stewart told People, "They're much more touchy-feely than they were."

Also, royal author Judy Wade points out: "They've always been close, but it is much more pronounced since she has become pregnant. There appears to be new, deeper bond between them,"

While visiting the Donald Dewer Centre last week, the royal couple partook in a game of ping pong (pictured above). The Prince came on top, teasing his pregnant wife by saying, "Ahem, I think that was 6-2."  

According to Lord Lieutenant Sadie Docherty who spoke with the Prince about the table tennis match, William admitted he got lucky.

"The only reason I won today was because Catherine was pregnant," the Duke of Cambridge admitted. "Otherwise she would have taken off her coat and beat me."
