The fallout continues from the June 14th brawl between Drake and Chris Brown at New York nightclub W.I.P. Brown's bodyguard Patrick Strickland is suing the Canadian MC and the venue for an unspecified amount in damages after being hit in the head with a bottle and sustaining serious injuries.

(Check out photos of the fight's aftermath here. Warning: Graphic images.)

According to the suit, Strickland suffered "severe and disfiguring injuries to his face, head and eyes" (and seeing the pics, we'd have to agree with him.)

As for why the nightclub is to blame, Strickland claims that W.I.P. was negligent in seating the rival posses so close together in the VIP section. As the lawsuit put it, there choice to seat the two groups in such close quarters created "a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur."

The suit shed light on what started the dust-up between the two rappers. If the lawsuit is to be believed an altercation broke out after Chris Brown received a note from Drake that read "I am f*cking the love of your life." (Drake had an on-again, off-again relationship with Brown's girlfriend Rihanna).

The beef has leaked into the pair's music with Drake taking shots at Chris Brown in his song "5AM in Toronto." Drake said the following lines which reportedly refer to Brown:

"A lot of n***as PR stuntin' like that's the movement/And I'm the only n***a still known for the music."

"I'm just being frank with you/I mean, where you think she at when she ain't with you?"

"A couple albums dropped, those are still on the shelf/I bet them s**ts would have popped if I was willin' to help."

With the exception of a public dis (the singer took the mic from a DJ at a Hollywood nightclub to sat "F**k Drake!"), Brown had remained relatively silent on the issue. However, it appears that Brown has finally fired back in the  remix to "R.I.P." where he said "If you started from the bottom, why don't you come out the closet?"
