The next episode of the second half of the seventh season of BBC's legendary hit show 'Doctor Who' brings us aboard a submarine during the Cold War where the Doctor runs into an old foe. After last week's emotional The Rings Akhaten, it looks like us Whovians are in for a suspenseful rid underwater for this week's Cold War. Penned by Mark Gatiss, it looks like Clara Oswald's second trip on the Tardis with the Doctor could really threaten her want to continue being a companion. (SPOILERS to follow)

But first, what did you think of The Rings of Akhaten? Pretty much all of the reviews, recaps, and general comments are split down the middle on the debate over whether it was a sufficient episode. Personally, I thought it was fantastic. Clara's first journey into time and space brings her to an alien civilization where she meets a little girl, Merry, who is actually the Queen of Years. This title means that she is basically a sacrifice to "Grandfather," an ageless being that consumes souls, or as the Doctor found out after some translation: Stories. The Queen of Years has all of the civilization's history, songs, stories, etc. in her mind. So Clara and the Doctor save her, but then have to feed "Grandfather," who, it turns out, is a parasitic star. In an emotional ending, the Doctor offers his stories and then Clara offers a special leaf, which represented everything that could have been but never will be. This saves the day and we are all crying now. Here is a behind-the-scenes look at The Rings of Akhaten:
"On a Russian submarine in 1983, a frozen alien warrior is waking up, just as the TARDIS materializes."

This was the only information we were given for this week's installment entitled Cold War. Then the trailer came out and there is still a lot of mystery involved. Who is the alien warrior that wakes up on this ship? What does it have to do with the Doctor? The BBC has been saying that the Doctor meets an old foe this week, so who exactly is it?
