While Shelton's split from Lambert is making rounds along with many unpleasant rumors, the country singer is keeping media at bay through this difficult time. Shelton is furious about the recent rumors and filed a $2 million lawsuit against tabloid In Touch Weekly for labeling him as an alcoholic who went to rehab for his addiction.

TMZ reports the defamation charges are pressed against Bauer Media, the parent company of In Touch Weekly by Shelton for publishing false reports about him. They made false claims stating that Shelton has an acute drinking problem and he spent time in a rehab facility to get over his alcoholic addiction. Not only this, the tabloid even claimed that Shelton was unable to do his job; he was almost on the brink of death due to lack of treatment. Infuriated, Shelton denied all these claims while backlashing the media for making it all up.

Things took the turn for the worst when tabloid hit back calling Shelton's testimony false. According to Toronto Sun, "Shelton had created a public persona of being a social drinker, and stated they did not actually suggest he was entering rehab. They also claimed they had two sources backing up the article."

Meanwhile, Stefani is fighting off her own critics in defense of her being blamed for her failed marriage to Gavin Rossdale. The 46-year-old American singer has cleared the air by saying that she was in fact the one who hit the rock bottom after ending her decade-long marriage with singer husband. She was in a complete mess after the dissolution of her marriage and it was Shelton who helped her bounce back from this unpleasant episode of her life, CBS News reported.

Reportedly, Shelton and Stefani have become extremely defensive against the media and do not hesitate to snap back at any false report. They look very much happy in love and wish to protect each other from any kind of hurting.
