Episode 17 of Scandal is just a few days away and much to our surprise the presidential candidates are coming together. In "Thwack", the election is in full swing and in the game of politics things turn dirty very quickly. Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) has had her share of revengeful plots and in the new episode she is threatening to use the best cards she knows how to play.
Last episode, we saw as Mellie (Bellamy Young), Hollis Doyle (Gregg Henry) and Susan Ross (Artemis Pebdani) take each other on during the first presidential debate. Liv discovered that Susan lied to the world about the paternity of their daughter and marrying her ex-husband. The true story is that she had an affair with a high school sweetheart who is currently behind bars.
Liv gave Alex (Danny Pino) evidence that Frankie (Ricardo Chavira) could use against Edison (Norm Lewis) in the race for the presidential candidacy. Liv was the only person who knew that Edison did a brief stint in rehab for drugs -- now the world knows. The issue now is that someone turned the tables on Frankie making it seem as if he was spreading false rumors about Edison.
Watching as the race for candidacy may be slipping out of Mellie's fingers, Liv puts a plan in motion. She threatens Susan's ex to take a paternity test and come out to the public exposing his relationship with Susan. In a surprising twist, Abby (Darby Stanchfield), Quinn (Katie Lowes) and Huck (Guillermo Diaz) get President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) to convince Liv to play the political game clean. The crazy part is that Liv, who was set in her decision, had the tables flipped on her as Susan's ex committed suicide while behind bars.
In the teaser for Episode 17, Liv is on a mission. Liv has a taste for revenge and she is not afraid to use it to get her way. In Scandal history many twists and turns hit viewers unexpectedly and in the next episode viewers need to prepare themselves. There are no limits any candidate will not take to protect their brand and lines will be crossed.
