Nick Carter just drove all of their die-hard fans into a frenzy as he confirmed that the Backstreet Boys have signed on for a Vegas residency! It’s just a “trial run,” but the popular boyband of the 90s is definitely open to a more permanent stay.
Entertainment Tonight spoke to Carter at the L.A. premiere of his new Sci-fi flick, Dead7, and he told them the band has signed a deal for nine shows to test the waters and see if a permanent show should get the green light.
"If it does really well, then I think that'll open that door and then in future we'll do it," Nick Carter told the site. "So that’s definitely going to happen but we're going to do a trial run first."
The 36-year-old actor and singer also revealed that fans can expect “a very big and spectacular show.” The shows will include all five band members, A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Carter.
Carter also recently revealed that a new Backstreet Boys album is coming, which bandmate Kevin Richardson confirmed at the premiere.
“We’re definitely in the studio, recording a brand-new album,” Richardson said, adding, “We’re gonna do a world tour first.”
Richardson has loved the idea of a residency from the very beginning saying, "A Vegas residency, now that we're all fathers, could be very convenient for us," he told ET. "We won't have to travel so much."

Before the news was confirmed, Hollywood Life talked to Carter about a Vegas residency. “I think it’d be a lot of fun to have one place for us to go and shake things up out in Vegas!” he told the site. “Not saying anything, but if anyone’s been to a BSB show, they know we bring the fire — and we have a lot of energy! It’d be awesome to light up Vegas!”
