It's been a little over a year since season 1 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt hit Netflix and Tina Fey reached our quirky hearts again, and now the second season is about to premiere! A new clip with Ellie Kemper and Jane Krakowski talking about season 2 has just appeared online so fans have something to wait for in the week before the show returns!
When season 2 was shooting, Kemper, who plays the title role in the series, and Krakowski, who plays Jacqueline Voorhees, had The Today Show on the set for a guided tour, (the show aired this Monday). On it, the two stars dished a little about what to expect from next week's Netflix release.
During the behind-the-scenes clip, Kemper reveals that Kimmy, after missing out on those "crucial formative years" as a Mole Woman, is finally coming to terms with what it means to be a grown-up. In the meantime, Jacqueline has divorced in the time since we last saw her, and she doesn't go for her married name, Voorhees, anymore, as the character has now embraced her maiden name of White.
Throughout season 1, it was revealed that Jacqueline, a blonde, blue-eyed woman, was actually born Native American and has been hiding from her past throughout her whole life in Manhattan. By the end of the season, she embraces her heritage and even gets her and Kimmy to Indiana by using her people's navigation knowledge.
Still, it might not be Kimmy and Jacqueline getting away with all the juicy bits this season: Tituss Burgess' character is getting a love interest this time around!
By the end of season one, Titus Andromedon, who'd been hanging out in Indiana when his "Gonna Be Famous (Remix)" video went viral, is confronted by someone from his past: his wife, who believed he was dead up until the clip appeared.
Season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt finally reaches Netflix on April 15.
