'American Idol' Recap: Season 12 Top 6 Results Show, Lazaro Arbos Eliminated, Kelly Clarkson, Scotty McCreery Perform Live, Top 5 Contestants Revealed [VIDEO]

Season 12 of "American Idol" continued last night with the results show for the top 6 contestants. Remaining on the show are Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, Janelle Arthur, and Lazaro Arbos. There is only one male left on season 12 and going into Thursday night's episode he seemed to be the weakest singer. Lazaro had a lot of trouble recently with forgetting lyrics and Wednesday night, put on what some consider the worst performance of the season. Who was sent home last night on "American Idol?" Surprisingly, last week when Burnell Taylor was eliminated, Lazaro found himself in the top 3 vote getters. This surprised many, because Lazaro was widely considered the worst singer remaining. "American Idol" judges can give their criticism, but in the end, it comes down to who America votes for.

Despite the voting results being the main attraction, the top 6 contestants still perform on Thursday night's results show. Outside of the "Idol" contestants performances, we also get Jimmy Lovine's recap from last night. Scotty McCreery sang his newest single "See You Tonight" while Kelly Clarkson returned to the "Idol" stage to sing "People Like Us."

Finally, "American Idol" gets to what all the viewers have been waiting for, the voting results. Will Lazaro some how manage to sneak through to the top 5? We find out the top 2 vote getters are Candice Glover and Kree Harrison, no big surprise here. The middle two are Janelle Arthur and Angie Miller, leaving Amber Holcomb and Lazaro Arbos as the bottom two. Despite Amber's solid performances she doesn't seem to have the fan base some of the other contestants have. Despite the fear that Amber could actually be eliminated, in the end, Lazaro is voted off.

Lazaro sings Michael Buble's "Feelin' Good" to try and get the save from the judges. Unfortunately for Lazaro, but not unexpected, the judges do not save Lazaro and he is going home. This leaves the top 5 contestants on season 12 of "American Idol" as all females. Amber, Candice, Angie, Kree, and Janelle will continue on to next week of "American Idol."
