Michael Buble is bringing on board at least one big movie star for his new album To Be Loved. The singers 2013 album is set to hit stores April 23 and it looks like Buble is pulling out all the stops. This includes singing a duet with actress Reese Witherspoon on Frank and Nancy Sinatra's song "Somethin' Stupid." The song cover isn't completely out of left field for the "Walk the Line" actress who played country singer June Carter Cash in the 2005 film about the legendary Johnny Cash.
Witherspoon is an "A" list actress who won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter, but can she hold her own next to Buble? Well, you be the judge. Take a listen to the video below and lest us know what you think of the duo's song "Something Stupid."
In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Buble explained how he came up with the idea. "We loved 'Walk the Line' and her voice was so smooth and wonderful," Bublé told Seacrest. "So my manager said 'Call her.'" According to Buble, Witherspoon nailed the song in one take. Could there be a singing career in Witherspoon's future?
Buble is set to go on tour to promote his new album in June. The singer will be performing at London's O2 Arena June 30 and will be performing exclusively in London and Dublin until July 20. You can find Buble's show schedule here.
As for Witherspoon, she was spotted celebrating her 37th birthday at the end of March in Cabo San Lucas with husband Jim Toth. According to Perez Hilton's sources, the actress enjoyed a spa visit and private dinner with Toth. According to her IMDB page, Witherspoon is scheduled to appear in a few movies over the next year or so. She is currently filming "The Good Lie" and already completed "Devil's Knot" in which she stars alongside Colin Firth.
