There is little doubt that viewers who watched the tragic final episode of The Walking Dead Season 6 experienced an emotional rollercoaster that ended with the most unexpected cliffhanger in the AMC show's history. However, it looks like the cast and crew of TWD are keeping quiet about who it was that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed in "Last Day on Earth." In the case of the episode's director Greg Nicotero, he has kept the victim's identity a secret, even from his own parents!
Nicotero recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly, where he spoke about how proud he is of the TWD episodes he has worked on.
"It's tremendously rewarding for me to be able to direct these episodes and be able to elicit emotion," Nicotero admitted before sharing that even his parents got emotional while watching the last moments of the Season 6 finale.
"My mom and dad called this morning and they were like, 'We had nightmares last night. You gotta tell us who it is,'" he revealed, adding that his mother demanded to know who Negan killed in "Last Day on Earth."
"My mom pulled the whole, 'Gregory, this is your mother, you need to tell me who dies,'" Nicotero said, although he confessed that he didn't share the secret with his own mother.
"I'm like, 'Mom I'm not allowed to tell you that,'" he said.
As a result, Nicotero stated that he is currently in a cold war with his parents.
"My mom and dad aren't talking to me right now," he concluded.
Nicotero isn't the only one refusing to speak about Negan's unfortunate victim. Andrew Lincoln has recently admitted that he and the cast have "made a pact" not to talk about which character will be returning as a bloody piñata in the seventh season of The Walking Dead.
