Nicki Minaj may not sing like Mariah Carey, but she makes hits like her. With the release of "High School" featuring Young Money label mate Lil Wayne. Nicki scores her her 44th Billboard Hot 100 hit, equaling the output of fellow 'American Idol' judge - and rival? Mariah Carey, Billboard reported.
According to Billboard, "High School," from Minaj's box set "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up," starts at No. 83. The song's start is fueled by a No. 42 bow on Streaming Songs (1.3 million streams, according to Nielsen BDS) following its video premiere on April 2.
It is no surprise that Nicki's third Pink Friday edition is doing so well, since American Idol aired Nicki mania has been in full effect. She released back-to-back videos for "High School" and "Up in Flames". Nicki will also appear in the "Beats by Dre" commercial to launch her exclusive pink "Pill." The commercial features the voice of seasoned actress Tichina Arnold, and an appearance by funny man DeRay Davis. The "Pink Friday" star tweeted to her more than 16 million followers:
