Kevin Spacey, who plays the role of vicious US President Frank Underwood in Netflix's political thriller drama, House of Cards, has recently stated that the drama that the show presents is no match for the ongoing elections in America.
The Guardian reported that the Academy Award winning actor revealed that after the after the shooting of the series, they go to their hotel room and analyse the day's work. He often wonders if they have pushed the envelope too far. But then he turns on the TV to watch the latest news on 2016 election and thinks "we haven't gone far enough."
Spacey stated that House of Cards is a hit among the Chinese as his character, Frank, plays the role of a common man who is seen fighting against the corrupts.
Spacey further revealed that it was preplanned by the crew to release Season four of House of Cards at the same time when the USA has to decide who will be the next president. When he was asked about his views on the candidates who are in race, Spacey wittily reminded us that Underwood is a made-up person. "We just need to remember he's fictional character and that some of the candidates running appear to be fictional too."
On the contrary to this, when Michael Kelly, who stars as Doug Stamper on the show, was asked about his views on Donald Trump, the 46-year-old actor was quoted by IBT as saying, "Donald Trump, in general, is scary as s**t. That being said, Frank and Doug would take his ass down. I don't like Donald Trump."
Season four of House of Cards premiered on March 4, 2016 and has impressed the fans as well as the critics. House of Cards Season 5 will release in 2017.
