Universal Home Entertainment is bringing the terrifying thriller, The Boy, onto Digital HD. From Lakeshore Entertainment and STX Entertainment, you have to check out this thrill ride starring Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) and Rupert Evans (Hellboy) before the official DVD and Blu-Ray release date.
According to the plot synopsis, The Boy follows Greta (Cohan),a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village. Greta soon discovers that the family's 8-year-old is actually a life-sized doll. She notices how the grieving family cares for the doll just like a real boy. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events suddenly bring Greta's worst nightmare to life. Not wanting to believe it at first, Greta realizes that the doll has come to life.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the Supernatural actress describes working with the Brahms doll, "My first reaction was probably just at how lifelike and delicate he was, because he's not like dolls in other horror films that are designed to scare you. He's obviously a bit creepy, but he sort of has a certain charm to him. But my character in the film's first reaction is, "You have to be kidding me."
If you check out the Batman V Superman actress' official Instagram account, a special cake was sent to Cohan by the spooky doll itself, wishing her a Happy Birthday. Knowing the dog referred to her as "Pretty Lauren," Maggie Greene herself had to ask, "Let them eat cake?"

Cohan even compares Greta to Maggie, "I think Greta gets there by the end, but it was interesting to play somebody that isn't as strong to begin with. If Maggie gave Greta some skills, then maybe they could take on a fight together and conquer something. Maggie has to give her some machete-swinging training."
The Boy arrives on Digital HD April 26, then on Blu-Ray/DVD on May 10.
