2K Sports released upcoming gameplay footage of Kobe Bryant before the release date of NBA 2K17. After his farewell game, the Los Angeles Lakers basketball player has landed himself on the cover of Legend Edition.
During Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz game, if you were watching on television, 2K Sports aired a special promo for their upcoming basketball videogame. Audiences had a chance to see the gameplay footage of the Legend Edition, with Bryant on the cover.
According to the New York Times, the Lakers' 101-96 victory over the Utah Jazz was an outpour of tremendous joy. The 37-year-old went out at the top of his game, who was expected to just hit 40 points. In the end though, the sports star made a free throw to reach his 60th during the night.
The Black Mamba recalls his achievement on his last game, "It's surreal. It's almost like you're in a fog. Everything is moving extremely slow but extremely fast. You're trying to take it all in. You're not quite sure where to look."
According to Polygon, the Legend Edition features "special Kobe-themed memorabilia and digital content extending his legacy for fans beyond his final NBA game tonight." There will be three physical premiums, which include a poster, two trading cards, and a "Black Mamba" game controller skin. Digital rewards contain three Bryant-themed cosmetic items, his No. 8 jersey from 1996 to 2006, 30,000 Virtual Currency for use in the MyCareer suite, and three packs of MyTeam cards.
Bryant states, "As I walk off the NBA court for the final time, it's exciting to know my fans can continue to celebrate my lifelong career as a Los Angeles Laker."
The Legend Edition will be available only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. NBA 2K17 will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC in September.
