It looks like an adaptation of the cult classic Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophesies of Agnes Nutter, Witch will finally become a reality. American Gods author Neil Gaiman has just confirmed that he will pen a six-part mini-series based on the novel he co-wrote with the late Terry Pratchett!
According to The Guardian, Gaiman announced the project at a recent memorial event for Pratchett. The Stardust writer claimed that although he and Pratchett had vowed not to work on Good Omens unless they did it together, he has received a letter penned by the Discworld novelist giving him permission to adapt the novel on his own.
Good Omens follows the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley as they try to prevent the Apocalypse. They end up tracking down the Antichrist, who has been misplaced. There was a hospital mix-up when he was just a baby.

This isn't the first time that there has been an attempt to bring Good Omens to TV or film. Monty Python's Terry Gilliam had wanted to work on a movie back in 2002. But according to Gaiman, it didn't work too well for the director when he pitched the idea to the studios right after 9/11.
"[Terry] said, 'Hilarious movie about the Antichrist and the end of the world,' and they said, 'Please go away, you're scaring us,'" he told Empire in 2013.
Although both Gaiman and Pratchett were interested in seeing the book made into a movie (or TV series), the Interesting Times author would not live long enough to see Good Omens completed for an adaptation. Pratchett passed away in March 12, 2015 at the age of 66.
In addition to Good Omens, Gaiman has also written the screenplay for the first episodes of American Gods, which is being adapted for Starz.
