DMX is a troubled man according to Iyanla Vanzant. DMX appeared on the season premiere of her OWN Network show, " Fix My Life," and the episode was full of highs, lows, and OUTBURTSTS. Vanzant attempted to use talk therapy to reconstruct DMX, from the inside out as she addressed his inner demons, womanizing ways, mental issues, drug addiction, and selflessness-but THE DOG was not having it.
The 90-minute episode highlights the unfortunate result of addiction as it relates to a multiplatinum hip-hop artist and actor, who was once at he topic of the rap game. While the reality of addictions is cruel and dark, DMX admits to finding the light in the dark as a child, being institutionalized before the age of 10.
"My mom put me away at 7," DMX says. "I enjoyed it... Being in institutions, I got three meals a day, clothes..."
Vanzant, uses DMX's childhood stories as a vehicle to transition to discuss the former Ruff Ryder's own parental issues with his 10 children. His son Xavier, 20, also appears on the show, volunteering to work on the minimal relationship that he has with 'X.
The conversation between DMX, Xavier, and mediator and host Vanzant goes sour, when the "hostile" DMX, tells Vanzant "shut the f--- up! Stop running your mouth!"
