Barbershop 3 Nicki Minaj's Brother Jelani Maraj Indicted For Child Rape Charges

 Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, has reportedly pleaded not guilty to raping a 12-year-old girl. According to Bossip, Maraj was arrested back in November, and has been indicted on charges of raping an unidentified 12-year-old girl. At the time, he was said to have been bailed out by his mother for $100,000. Minaj’s older brother appeared in court in New York for his arraignment a little over two weeks ago, and returned yesterday (April 19) to plead not guilty to felony sexual assault against a child, two counts of sexual conduct against a child and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child. While it seems like Nicki Minaj is riding the waves of success with her role in Babershop 3: The Next Cut, the rapper is currently going through alot with her personal life. Her brother/employee Jelani Maraj is being charged with the unthinkable. Maraj was indicted by a New York grand jury on child rape charges.

The "Truffle Butter" rapper adores her brother, Jelani. When the news first circulated about his arrest, Minaj posted his $100,000 as well as putting up two of her New York City homes as collateral. The case has definitely taken a turn for the worst.

According to Bossip, Maraj is in serious trouble. The grand jury decided that there was sufficient evidence to charge him with sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. Court records reveal that deliberations took a month before announcing their decision.

Maraj appeared in sex crimes court on Tuesday in Nassau County, NY for his arraignment. His mother was present for the court proceeding while Minaj was nowhere in sight. By the help of his attorneys Benjamin Brafman and Andrea Zellan, he pled not guilty and is currently free on $100,000 cash or bond.

The site reports that Maraj is currently facing a top felony predatory sexual assault against a child, felony sexual assault against a child under age 13, sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Long Island police officer initially arrested Maraj after the victim revealed that he has been raping her for months, with the last rape occurring one day before his arrest.

If found guilty, Maraj can face up to 15 years in prison on the most serious charge alone. Maraj is definitely in for a fight for his freedom.
