'Teen Mom 2' Jenelle Evans Assault Trial Update: Did Nathan Griffith Lie To Cops About Fight?

Trouble may finally catch up to Jenelle Evans if she goes on trial for assaulting baby daddy Nathan Griffith's girlfriend Jessica Henry. The Teen Mom 2 star is gearing up to go before a jury for her August 20, 2015 arrest after allegedly throwing a glass at Jessica. However, she may get off if Nathan is found to be lying under oath about what happened that day.

"On the video that the cops have, Nathan is clearly heard telling them that he didn't see anything because he was loading things into the truck," a source told Radar Online. Apparently, he had said before that he did see what occurred.

Why are Nathan and Jessica still pursuing the charges against Jenelle? "Jenelle thinks that Nathan is just using this to try and manipulate her in their custody case [for son Kaiser]," another source told the gossip site.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the North Carolina discussed her ex and the reason, according to her, that Nathan is continuing to fight with her regarding custody.

"It's just a lot of butting heads right now. I think he's really not putting all personal issues aside - he's not making it just about Kaiser," she said.

"I think he's really jealous of [boyfriend] David [Eason]," she continued. "He's claiming I'm letting Kaiser called David 'Dada,' but Kaiser knows David by 'David' - I would never do that to Kaiser and I would never do that to Nathan because that's unfair."
