The newest members of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters prove that it's hard not to have fun when Evan Peters' Quicksilver is around. The extended version of the X-Men: Apocalypse promo for Sky Fibre highlights the mutant's speedy skills as he works his way around Tye Sheridan's Cyclops and Alexandra Shipp's Storm before making Kodi Smit-McPhee's Nightcrawler hit the ceiling!

The promo opens with a young girl complaining about her broadband connection. Quicksilver immediately steps in, declaring, "What we need is a little speed," and proceeds to demonstrate just how fast he can go.

First he removes Scott Summers' glasses to unleash a laser beam before moving Nicholas Hoult's Beast out of the way. After a quick check in the mirror, he completes a Rubix cube and grabs a flying apple, which he slices with the help of the laser. He then snaps a quick photo on Nightcrawler's tablet and takes popcorn from Storm before lighting some candles, grabbing a flower and settling down beside the girl.

The result is instant uproar as apples fly all over the place and a surprised Nightcrawler teleports to the chandelier. The girl remains unimpressed. "I was going to say we need Sky Fibre," she says, adding, "It's even faster than you."

Quicksilver doesn't seem convinced. Nevertheless, he immediately installs the Sky Fibre modem while Nightcrawler discovers the picture in his tablet and shakes his head in disgust.

The promo is undoubtedly funny, but it also puts the new X-Men members in a completely different time period. After all, Apocalypse is set in the 1980s, where broadband connections and tablets didn't exist. Nevertheless, it's a fun look at what could probably happen if the mischievous Quicksilver joins Professor X's school.

X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer and also stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. The film will premiere on May 27.
