After six years of opening each week's "Sunday Night Football" coverage with a rendition of the theme song, country music singer Faith Hill has decided to step down as the voice of the show. Her song "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" (which is set to the tune of Joan Jett's 1988 hit "I Hate Myself for Loving You") will no longer be the theme to the National Football League's highest rated show of the last two years. This allows someone else to step into the important role of bringing football fans into their favorite show. Who do you think will be the next theme song singer?
There has not been any word on who will replace Hill, but that news might come with or soon after the announcement of next year's NFL schedule, which is coming soon.
Amazing 2 have been part of SNF - an honor. I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open.

The official "Sunday Night Football" Twitter account, which is apparently run by the show's producer Fred Gaudelli, tweeted support of Hill's decision:
Great love and appreciation to @faithhill for six great years of rocking the SNF open.

Here is Faith Hill's "Sunday Night Football" song that will no longer be a part of the show:
Debuting in 2006, Hill’s take on the intro theme was a great addition to one of the most important sports shows on television. So who do you think can step into her shoes? Do you think it will be another country music performer? Maybe Taylor Swift? Or will “SNF” branch out a bit into another genre?
