Snow White and the Huntsman prequel Huntsman: Winter's War hits theaters soon, which means its star-filled cast has been making press rounds, revealing little behind-the-scenes stories. In the movie, British actress Emily Blunt plays a very blonde character with a connection to snow, much like the lead character from Frozen -- and Charlize Theron's son was convinced she was Elsa!
Blunt, currently pregnant with her second child with husband John Krasinski, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week to discuss her new fantasy/action film. The talk show host compared her look for the role to Elsa's in the Disney film, and Blunt said that she knew comparisons were coming the minute she went for the blonde wig -- and she even had to deal with it on set!
Apparently, Theron's son Jackson is "obsessed" with Frozen, and he hung out with his mom on-set a lot during shooting, and he was convinced Blunt was actually real-life Elsa. Of course, being a mom herself, Blunt never said she wasn't the Disney Snow Queen, but poor little Jackson had to find out the hard way: he saw her in sweatpants with the white wig on, without her fancy gown!
"He just looks and me and he goes 'put on your dress,'" Blunt recounted, acting out the scene of the disappointed little boy. "Like, he was really bummed about it."
Still, Jackson's confusion makes a lot of sense, as both Frozen and Blunt's character on Winter's War are based on Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairytale The Snow Queen.
During the same interview, Blunt also revealed some of the weird moments from filming in a green screen-filled set, including how she had to ride a "wolf bear" creature that was added in post-production and felt completely ridiculous doing it. Co-star Jessica Chastain later confirmed that, indeed, Blunt looked positively hilarious.
