Will Famke Janssen Join Sophie Turner's Jean Grey in Rumored 'X-Men Dark Phoenix' Film?

Jean Grey is undoubtedly one of the most popular X-Men characters, having been played by the statuesque Famke Janssen in the original film trilogy. Now that Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner will be taking on the role of the flame-haired telekinetic in X-Men: Apocalypse, Janssen has just admitted that she is interested in appearing in a mutant film with her younger counterpart! But will they both appear in the rumored Dark Phoenix movie?

Janssen recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly, where she shared that Turner had contacted her to ask for advice on how to portray Jean.

"She emailed me before she started filming wanting some pointers and I said, 'You don't need any. You're perfect. You're great,'" Janssen revealed, adding that she is looking forward to seeing Turner take on the role.

"I can't wait to see the movie and what she's done with it," she admitted.

Although it sounds like Janssen is happy to just sit back and watch the new Jean in Apocalypse, it doesn't mean that the Taken star isn't interested in returning to future X-Men films.

"I think that I should be back along with my younger version and the way that we've seen it with Magneto and Professor X," Janssen said in reference to X-Men: Days of Future Past where Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy appeared alongside Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.

But is it possible that two Jeans will be featured in an X-Men movie? Janssen shared that she had pitched the idea of having the past and future Jeans interact in a film similar to Days of Future Past. Unfortunately, she has yet to hear back from the producers on the plan.

"I have not heard any feedback on that, other than total radio silence," Janssen stated.

It certainly looks like Fox might have big plans for the younger Jean in future mutant flicks. There are speculations that the next X-Men movie will take its plot from The Dark Phoenix Saga. Could it be possible that Janssen and Turner will both appear in the rumored film? Fans will have to wait a bit longer before Fox confirms its plans for the character.

X-Men: Apocalypse will premiere on May 27.
