There is clearly a lot of buzz around the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, and today we get our first look at the super villain of the super hero movie. Jamie Foxx portrays the (literally) electrifying character Electro in this new installment of Spider-Man and he thankfully does not look like the original comic book interpretation of the villain. But will this new take on Electro be enough to bring audiences to theaters next year?
Foxx previously told BlackFilm.com about his role as Electro in the Marc Webb directed sequel, and talked mainly about the appearance of the super villain:
It won't be green and yellow. It will be a different color. They (the producers) want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic book-y, so it won't be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen. How did he become this way? So, it will be some new stuff.

As you can see, this is definitely not like the comic book interpretation of the villain's look.
Another question is what will the films other apparent villain The Rhino look like? Actor Paul Giamatti is set to take on this role and it should be interesting to see how they make the super strong criminal adaptable for the movie.
Andrew Garfield returns as Peter Parker and his super hero alter ego Spider-Man in the 2014 sequel. Emma Stone also reprises her role as Gwen Stacy. The film also features Sally Field, Felicity Jones, B.J. Novak, Dane DeHaan, and Shailene Woodley. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for a May 2, 2014, release.
