After months of throwing shade to Dwayne Johnson's movie reboot of 90s show Baywatch, original series star Pamela Anderson is following the footsteps of David Hasselhoff, and has officially joined the film in an unnamed role. The actress who originated the role of Casey Jean Parker will be back, joining the cast of the new version -- including new C.J. Parker (Kelly Rohrbach)!
Johnson, who has been sharing updates from the Baywatch reboot ever since it began shooting earlier this year, took to Instagram last week to confirm the most iconic member of the original cast would be returning for a cameo.
"She introduced the world to "CJ Parker" and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time," Johnson captioned a photo of himself with Anderson on the beach. "A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our Baywatch cast. We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!"

Not long after the announcement, The Daily Mail caught a few snaps from the set and Anderson could already be seen around the shooting location in Tybee, Georgia. She was wearing the same outfit as the one featured in her picture with Johnson.
Up until confirmation, it seemed unlikely that Anderson would be joining the cast of the reboot at all. A few months back, she sat down with Entertainment Tonight Canada to talk about the reboot, and she said that, while she had been approached, she didn't see how joining in would "benefit" her -- but it seems she ultimately did find a reason!
The Baywatch film reboot, co-produced by The Rock, will see the actor star as Mitch Buchannan. Other members of the cast include Zac Efron as Matt Brody, Ilfenesh Hadera as Stephanie Holden and Priyanka Chopra as new character Victoria Leeds. The film will premiere on May 19, 2017.
