According to Hip Hollywood, Shakur's biopic has officially wrapped production. No updates have circulated about the biopic since the announcement was made but now we have gotten our hands on a sneak peek of the film.
The movie is being directed by music video/film director Benny Boom. Boom is a widely respected filmmaker who has directed videos for artists from Nicki Minaj to Amerie and directed the film "Next Day Air." The film is set to hit the big screens in November days after the 20th anniversary of the rapper's death.
The cast includes The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira playing Shakur's mother Afeni Shakur, Dominic L. Santana playing former music executive Suge Knight, Demetrius Shipp Jr. playing Shakur and Jamal Woodward playing the late Notorious B.I.G.
In the sneak peek, we see Shipp reenacting the infamous courthouse interview from 1994. At the time, the rapper was being charged with sexual abuse, sodomy and illegal possession of a firearm. Shakur was a passionate individual and Boom did an amazing job of capturing this moment on camera.
