Shakira's ex-boyfriend Antonio de la Rua, the son of the former President of Argentina, filed a lawsuit against the new mother and "The Voice" judge claiming that he inspired her to write the 2010 World Cup theme, "Waka Waka." De la Rua also claims he was responsible for her hit "Hips Don't Lie" and that he shaped the singer's sexy image and brand, demanding $250 million in the lawsuit. Shakira, who just had a son with international 26-year-old soccer star Gerard Pique, has denied these claims and asked a New York judge to throw out her ex-boyfriend's case.

In the court papers asking the judge to dismiss the suit, the 36-year-old "The Voice" judge says that she is a self-made woman and that de la Rua had nothing to do with her success.

The two first met at a concert in 2000, of which Shakira stated, "I was already a well-known and recognized artist, and my international career was established and solid."

De la Rua claimed that he was his ex-girlfriend's business partner and strategist, to which Shakira admitted he was "one of my numerous advisers."

She continued, "Though he lacked experience or knowledge of the music industry, in 2005, at his request, I decided to involve (de la Rua) in some matters relating to the business." Shakira also pointed out that she did this because he "was unemployed."

When de la Rua's father "was forced to resign as president of Argentina at the end of 2001, plaintiff, for his own safety, became self-exiled from Argentina and he became unemployed," the singer said. At that point, the two had been dating for about a year.

De la Rua claims he continued to be Shakira's business manager after they split up in 2010, but was officially fired a year later when the singer started dating Gerard Pique.
