Teen Cancer America dedicates itself to raise awareness about the clinical and psychosocial needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer. The Who singer Roger Daltrey has stepped out to support Teen Cancer America at a Raleigh, N.C. fundraiser.
According to Teen Cancer America's official site, Daltrey co-founded the charity to support teenagers and young adults with cancer. The 72-year-old rocker appeared at a Raleigh, N.C. fundraiser, North Carolina Cares. A fundraising portion, bidding paddles were held high as once-a-lifetime auction items helped raise more than $110,000 for the cause.
The Tommy actor states in his press release, "It's hard enough being a teenager, but being treated for cancer and finding yourself either among little kids or the elderly just isn't right - they need their own place where they can be with each other and most importantly, be themselves."
First Citizens Bank has made TCA its lead philanthropic cause, helping to raise money and awareness through a special website, LetMyLoveOpenTheDoor.com, plus a social media campaign using the hashtag, #LetMyLoveOpenTheDoor.
