By popular demand from fans and critics, Fox will continue the revival of their iconic sci-fi/horror series, The X-Files, their own Event Series. For Season 11 of The X-Files, are David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully)"on board?"
As we previously mentioned,14 years have passed since FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully were last seen on the TV screen solving weird and supernatural cases. The reboot of Fox's popular sci-fi series continued with an all-new 6 episode arc. Not only did the two leads come back to reprise their iconic roles, creator Chris Carter took over as showrunner once again for the popular franchise that launched his and many other careers.
The Revival miniseries follows the paranormal investigators in the aftermath of the break-up. Though they have split, Mulder and Scully are reunited when internet shock jock Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale) calls upon their experience and knowledge for help on his mystery. Just like old times, the further these FBI agents dig deep and start asking questions, the more secrets they uncover about a vast and horrifying conspiracy.
According to TV Line, During a conference call with reporters to promoteFox's 2016-17 schedule, chairman and CEO Dana Walden confirmed "conversations" were being made with the series creator and the two main leads.
Walden adds, "I believe everyone is on board to do another installment of the show."
Walden mentions there are scheduling hurdles to overcome, but, "Hopefully, this time next year we will have more news."
We can only speculate that Season 11 may be set for the 2017-18 TV season.
We also mentioned, the bonus extras will include special effects sequences, deleted scenes and an in-depth look behind the scenes of The Event Series, which hits stores on DVD and Blu-Ray June 14, 2016.
Readers, are you excited for another season of The X-Files?
