Yesterday, the United Kingdom lay to rest its former Prime Minister, the "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher. While the funeral itself was big news, the service introduced the world to Margaret's 19-year-old, American granddaughter, Amanda Thatcher. The University of Richmond freshman inadvertently turned heads and even started a frenzy on Twitter during her praise-worthy speech at her grandmother's funeral. People are comparing this to how Pippa Middleton turned heads at the Royal Wedding two years ago. Amanda's classmates in high school voted her "Most likely to change the world," and it looks like she has an early start.

Amanda Thatcher and her brother Michael grew up in Texas with their mother, Diane Burgdorf. Amanda's father, Mark, is the son of the late Margaret Thatcher, who separated from Burgdorf when their children were younger. Amanda also spent time in South Africa but is ultimately an American. She currently attends the University of Richmond and is on the school's running team.

During the widely televised event, Amanda opened the ceremony with its first reading. Despite standing in front of a packed St. Paul's cathedral with even the Queen and other worldwide diplomats in attendance (not to mention the millions watching at home), the 19-year-old wowed her audience with a powerful speech for her beloved Grandmother. She read from St Paul's letter to the Ephesians VI, 10-18, which says: "Finally, my brethren, be strong in The Lord, and in the power of his might."

Here is a video of Amanda Thatcher's speech that opened the funeral of her grandmother, Margaret Thatcher:

During the broadcast of the funeral and specifically Amanda's great speech, the phrase "Amande Thatcher hot" started to trend on Twitter. Here are just a few examples of what was said on the popular social media outlet:
