FX's The Americans S04E13: Persona Non Grata Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Finale Recap

FX continues with the Season 4  finale of The Americans. In episode 13, Persona Non Grata, will Elizabeth (Kerri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings be able to keep their family safe as they go deeper undercover?

With Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) and his partner on stakeout, William (Dylan Baker) puts the virus in a small container. As Philip follows in car, William leaves with the container. As Stan keeps his binoculars focused on William, the chase continues. 

Paige (Holly Taylor) is in her bed reading her book, talking to her mother. William  is being trailed on foot and gets spotted by Stan. With the FBI wanting him caught, William has no choice but to run. 

As William races, the police start to war in on him. William then cuts himself with the virus. He asks to be taken to a bio-containment facility. Back at home, Philip learns that Stan hasn't returned home. There is still another mission he has to complete. 

Elsewhere, a prisoner has a chance of early release if he obeys orders. At the hospital, Stan and his partner attempt to interrogate William. On his death bed, William laughs at them and reveals how the virus will kill him.  William laughs when asked if he wants a coke.

Elizabeth finds Paige in the kitchen and discovers Pastor Tim's wife had her child. Paige wants to see the baby first, before bringing in the entire family. Paige doesn't understand why her father is at EST. At his seminar, Philip opens up to the crowd and has a mi in his hand.

Philip wants to quit but cannot break his promises. Is it okay if he lets himself down? In the morning, Gabriel (Frank Langella) tells Elizabeth and Philip that William has been caught. Philip doesn't think William will talk but it is possible. Knowing their hideout has been compromised, they have to leave.

The Center is visited by American government officials. As accusations are being thrown around, William starts to talk to Stan and his partner. For the first time in his life, William thought he was special. He was alone in the end with his curse. The absence of closeness makes you dry inside. 

Gabriel thinks Philip and Elizabeth are at rick with their problems piling up. The Jennings should return home to Russia with their children. Their job wasn't meant to be forever. As Paige visits Pastor Tim and his wife at the hospital, Philip and Elizabeth  are in shock with the news.

William uses his last breath to confess his sins. He mentions Philip and Elizabeth without saying their names. Paige is hanging out with Stan's son as they end up sharing a kiss. 

Stan finally shows up at his home. He tells the good news to Philip; their kids are making out. Philip doesn't want Paige to see Stan's kid.
