'Justice League' Movie Gets Synopsis: Will Superman Return for Zack Snyder Sequel?

Zack Snyder brought the main players from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back to film the DC Extended Universe only days after the movie premiered, and we're already getting the first bits of information about the movie -- and that includes the synopsis. Still, one question remains as the Justice League is formed: will Henry Cavill's Superman return?

The cast and crew of the first Justice League movie is already prepping up for the film's release, even if it's still a year and a half away. Besides filming it, Warner Bros. has just released the first few details of the movie -- by giving the world the first official synopsis of DC's great superhero team.

"Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy," reads the synopsis, via Deadline. "Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions."

So far, there's no mention of Superman's return to life, but from the last scene of Dawn of Justice to the mere fact that you can't have a Justice League without Kal-El, there's hardly any doubt he'll be back at some point of the film. Still, it remains unclear how much screen time Cavill will have, as the world still thinks Supes is dead and the synopsis shows Batman will try to build the League on the foundations of his sacrifice to Doomsday.

The gears are already set in motion for the Justice League, and one of the key members of the team just revealed a little more info on it. Oscar winner Ben Affleck, who took up the mantle of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Dawn of Justice, took to Twitter last Tuesday afternoon to share the official logo for the film.

The 2017 Justice League film will be the first of two parts, the second of which will be released in 2019; both will be directed by Snyder, after his role creating the DC Extended Universe through Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice.
