Finally, we're getting some information about Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Netflix's four-movie sequel/revival from the cult series about a sassy and quick-witted mother-and-daughter duo, starring Alexis Bledel. The last time we saw Rory, she was following the 2008 presidential campaign -- and eight years later, she's interviewing First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama!
Ahead of the Netflix revival of the beloved Amy Sherman Palladino-created show, Netflix is already prepping up the grand for its grand return to the small screen. After years of wondering what ever became of Rory after she went on to follow Barack Obama's first presidential campaign, it turns out she's exactly where we would expect, in the White House talking to the big guys.
From the clip, it would seem like Rory's actually working with the Obama administration, though it's tough to see where the promo ends and the actual teasing of what's coming begins. Still, it's the same old Rory: she drops by to visit FLOTUS by bringing stacks and stacks of books to recommend for her upcoming trip, as Mrs. Obama stares in amazement.
The clip follows the double purpose of promoting the upcoming Gilmore Girls revival as well as the First Lady's Let Girls Learn initiative, as Mrs. Obama is about to embark on a trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain to address the problems young women face in these countries. It also shows us Rory was really into accompanying the First Lady, but the Secret Service wouldn't allow it -- oh, and Mrs. Obama just launched a Snapchat account, and she doesn't seem altogether that convinced about it.
Just a couple of girls talking about books... (: michelleobama)https://t.co/CS48LB9fk7

There's still no release date for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (a show that was thought to be entitled Gilmore Girls: Seasons until recently), but we know it'll be available at some point of this fall. Most of the cast of the original show will be returning, including all of Rory's major boyfriends, her father, her sister, her best friend and all the sweet and quirky characters from the fictional town of Stars Hollow.
While fans in the U.S. have been able to rewatch the entire show on the streaming platform recently, this hasn't been possible for the rest of the world. Because of this, Netflix just announced through the other Gilmore Girl, Lauren Graham (Lorelai), that starting this July 1st, every season will be available in every country in the world that has Netflix!
