It's only been two years since Guardians of the Galaxy hit theaters in the summer of 2014, giving a fresh new look into superhero movies by giving us a group of downright ridiculous misfits flying around in space. Now, production has wrapped on the film's sequel, Vol. 2 -- and director James Gunn may have just confirmed a new teaser during San Diego Comic-Con!
Celebrating Fourth of July with flying colors, the writer-director took to Twitter last Monday to tease a little about the upcoming sequel, saying fans could wait for something at the end of the month during the West Coast's most famous Comic-Con.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit theaters in less than a year, so it's no surprise to see we'll get more on the film soon, as it wrapped up production only a few weeks back. A few months back, the first Doctor Strange trailer was released barely a few days after it was announced the movie had finished filming in New York City.
While a teaser might be shown during SDCC, it's unclear whether it will also be shown online afterwards. Last year, Warner Bros./DC previewed a teaser trailer for the super-villain team-up film Suicide Squad, and it was supposed to stay only within the premises -- although it did leak online early, so there's hope even if the Guardians footage is only meant to be for those assisting.
Last year Marvel skipped the San Diego Comic-Con, as the studio had just finished up Phase 2 of its Cinematic Universe with Ant-Man. For this year, it seems fans will get a little bit of the many projects planned for the MCU in the next couple of years, including more from this year's Benedict Cumberbatch-led film Doctor Strange and the third Netflix-Marvel show Luke Cage.
According to IGN, another Marvel TV show will be getting its own panel later this month: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the only remaining ABC show set within the MCU now that Agent Carter has been canceled.
The MCU keeps growing and 2017 will be a major time for Marvel, with the release of an unprecedented three films in the same calendar year: Guardians 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. On Netflix, we'll also get the first season of Iron Fist and either the second season of Jessica Jones or the first of The Defenders.
