For most celebrities, social media can be both a gift and a burden. Country crooner Blake Shelton is feeling the wrath of the internet this week, after controversial tweets from 2009-2012 have resurfaced. The tweets, which have since been deleted, have been dubbed by many as being racist, homophobic and sexist, according to a report from New York Daily News. The controversy comes just under a month until the 40-year-old singer launches a major fall tour, but the negative press has yet to affect his ticket prices.

With just a few weeks away from the kickoff of his fall tour, tickets to see Blake Shelton are currently averaging $149 on the secondary market. The tour will launch in Shelton's home state of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, with two performances on September 9 and 10. Tickets for these kickoff shows are currently averaging $160, while the cheapest ticket priced at $47. The tour will hit cities like St. Paul, Wichita, Hartford, Connecticut and several others before it wraps up with a two-night performance in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center on October 7 and 8. The October 7 is Shelton's most expensive night of the tour thus far, with tickets averaging $182, with the cheapest ticket going for $37, according to data provided by ticket aggregator, TiqIQ.

To compare, the most affordable performance along the tour route is scheduled to be his September 22 stop at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, where tickets are averaging just $118, with the cheapest ticket up for grabs for a mere $27.

Blake Shelton, who is a longtime judge on NBC's The Voice, is on the road in support of his most recent record, If I'm Honest, which is home to the hit single, "Came Here to Forget," a duet with his current girlfriend Gwen Stefani, who is currently out on the road in support of her own tour.  The album also features "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" and his current radio smash, "She's Got A Way With Words." While out on the road, Shelton is expected to perform new material and music off this record, along with the several other No. 1 singles he has had throughout his career.
