Put your claws up Monsters, because Lady Gaga isn't showing any signs of slowing down. The pop Diva, who dropped a brand new single, "Perfect Illusion," earlier this month and can be seen in the sixth season of American Horror Story this fall is showing that it's full speed ahead in the coming months. The star who has conquered both the music and acting realms is about to score a touchdown in the sports arena, as it has been rumored that she will be performing during the NFL Super Bowl halftime show this year. She is looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow singers who have rocked the stage before her, including Katy Perry, Beyoncé, and Madonna.
According to Us Weekly, the self-proclaimed Mother of monsters is in talks to be the star of the show when the 51st Super Bowl comes to Houston early next year.
Yet, despite her name getting thrown into the ring, it seems that no decision has been finalized just yet, according to a rep for the NFL.
"We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show," an insider explained to Billboard. "However, at this point, we do not have a final decision. We're happy there is so much excitement about the show."
However, we don't know if there is anyone in the rotation that has more experience than Gaga when it comes to this particular sporting event, as she did sing the National Anthem at last year's Super Bowl; something she said she was so honored to do.
"I've always wanted to sing the national anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl, and for it to be the Super Bowl, it is ... one of the highest honors," the star said after taking the stage last year according to Time.
Rumors also circulated earlier this month that Adele was in the running to get the coveted honor, but NFL reps later dispelled the reports.
