Brad Pitt has released a second statement regarding his controversial divorce from superstar wife Angelina Jolie. The actor and father of six said that he is asking people to give his children space that they deserve. He also said that the wellbeing of his children matters more than anything else.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Pitt issued this statement alongside promoting his new movie "Voyage of Time" which will be released Wednesday. Reports also said that he will not be attending the exclusive screening of the movie as well.
"Voyage of Time" is Pitt's major project before news of their divorce was revealed. The 52-year old actor narrated the documentary in the movie. Directed by Terrence Malick, Brad Pitt remarked that the movie was a beautiful and one -of-a-kind experimental IMAX movie intended for children and families. He also said that he was very grateful that he got to be a part of it and added that he is currently dealing with his family situation and don't want this issue to distract people away from "Voyage of Time."
Along with praising the movie, he added that he was saddened by the latest developments in his life but he wants nothing but the best for his kids. He asked the press to give them privacy during the divorce process.
According to reports, Pitt was surprised that Jolie filed for a divorce on September 19. ExtraTV also said that allegedly, the actor was drunk on board their private plane in a return flight from France, along with his wife and at least one of their six children on September 14. Sources said that Pitt allegedly verbally abused one of their kids.
It was not clear if the actor had previous issues with drinking as well as reckless behavior while on board their plane before. Sources said that the couple may have broken up because of Pitt's way of parenting. Meanwhile Angelina Jolie cited that their divorce was due to "irreconcilable differences." The actress is doing all she can to avoid contact with Pitt even blocking his number.
The Lara Croft actress is asking full physical custody of all their children however Pitt is countering this by asking for joint custody. The Hollywood couple has been married since 2014 but has been living together since 2004. They have six lovely children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox.
