Last night's "Glee" had to follow up the dramatic and controversial "Shooting Star" episode which received mainstream publicity for the school shooting scene. How did Thursday night's episode "Sweet Dreams" compare? Well it was a big episode for Lea Michele's character Rachel as she auditioned for the Broadway musical "Funny Girl." If you haven't seen last night's "Glee" yet and you don't want a spoiler then don't continue reading the recap from April 18th's "Sweet Dreams" episode.

Rachel's big audition for "Funny Girl" occurs this week. First her biological mother Shelby pays her a visit and suggests that she doesn't sing a Barbara Streisand song for her audition. Meanwhile, Rachel calls Finn to thank him for taking care of her prostitute boyfriend Brody. Finn tells Rachel to sing a song from her heart, so she sings Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" at the audition. She knocks it out of the park and gets a call back.

Finn is enrolled in college at the University of Lima to become a teacher. Of course Puck shows up and kicks out Finn's roommate so he and Finn can party all day and night at college. They even get inducted into a fraternity on campus without having to go through any hazing which is impressive. Puck then realizes that they have been partying too hard and goes to work on his screenplay while Finn studies.

Coach Beiste persuades Will to reach out to Finn and make up, after the school shooting at McKinley High which still has everyone on edge, Beiste explains that life is too short to be stubborn. Will and Finn end up resolving their differences and Finn agrees to come back and co-lead the New Directions.

On "Sweet Dreams" fans get to see Roz return and celebrate the departure of Sue Sylvester. Fans also got to see Sam's alter ego Evan Evans, who is a very entertaining character. Marley decided that she wants her original songs to be used for Regionals, but Will disagrees. However, after overhearing Marley performing an original song, Will realizes that he was being too hard on them and changes his mind. So New Directions will be going into regionals performing original material. Will it be good enough to get them through? Next week's "Glee" is titled "Lights Out." It will be interesting to see how Rachel does in her callback, as well as seeing what becomes of the school shooting angle. What did you think of Thursday night's "Glee?"
