Why Did Dove Cameron and Fiancé Ryan McCartan Call Off Engagement?

After four years of being together, Dove Cameron and fiancé Ryan McCartan confirms the split. The ex-couple have called it quits after announcing their engagement earlier in the year.

As reported by Just Jared, rumors began to swarm after Ryan had unfollowed Dove on Instagram and Twitter this week. Up until now, there are such no clear reasons for the breakup of the two Disney stars, as they left their fans wondering.

However, there are some speculations that this is due to their busy schedules that contributed to the cause of their split. Also, the pressures for the upcoming wedding became another force as it rushes to run the altar.

"She is so busy. I am so busy. And the last thing which we want to do is turn it into another thing on the to-do list; you know what I mean?" actor Ryan McCartan said in an interview with E! News.

Just after Ryan announced his engagement to Dove on social media during his 1,000th post, the 'Liv and Maddie' star, Dove Cameron shared her thoughts. "Perhaps we were both clear with each other that it was totally like, 'I know you're my person. You know you're my person. There's nobody else." Dove also added, "But I knew he wanted to get married young- he had told me that."

Maybe Dove is not yet ready to enter married life at her age, and Ryan is already prepared for that. On top of that, Ryan still comes up with the pain as he shared on his Twitter account.

 "Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants," Ryan shared on his Twitter account. "We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful."

However, according to a source, "None of Dove's close friends are very fond of him and their relationship as they felt him... was using her for exposure." Well, this sounds for another strange thing on their split.

The two met four years ago on the set of Disney's 'Liv and Maddie.' Meanwhile, later this month, Ryan will be starring in 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' on Fox and Dove is presently shooting her film 'Descendants 2'.
