Deadpool fans will surely be in for a different ride. Director Tim Miller left the production on Deadpool 2 over "creative differences". Miller, whose directorial debut was the first Deadpool movie, bowed out due to clashes with actor Ryan Reynolds on several points during preproduction.

20th Century Fox, wanting capitalize on the movie's unexpected success, fast-tracked development on a sequel to Deadpool. While Miller had not signed on for the film prior to the split, he was reportedly working on the follow up to 2016's R-rated masterpiece with scriptwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Along with Reynolds, who plays the "Merc with a Mouth" and an active producer of the film, they comprise the creative team that made the first movie the epic that it is.

As Screenrant reveals, the "creative differences" were regarding the vision of the film and casting.  Reynolds wanted to continue the raunchy comedy and satire that the first movie played on. Miller's direction, on the other hand, was leading to discovering the character's interesting aspects in the X-men Universe.

Another point that both Miller and Reynolds can't agree on is who should play the character Cable for the 2018 sequel. Miller wanted Cable, who was hinted at the post-credits scene of the first film, to be played by Kyle Chandler (of Friday Night Lights and Bloodline). Reynolds, however, wanted someone else to play the "Chosen One".

Deadline indicates that Miller quietly left the team on October 21st, during the time that casting for the character Domino is being made, which may or may not be the last straw for the director. He and Fox are still at good terms, however, as they will be working together on the movie "Influx".

The search for a new director is underway, and will be a very crucial position to be in, especially since Hugh Jackman would be bidding adieu with the 2017's "Logan", which would signal an end to one of Fox's strong franchises.
