'Deadpool' sequel loses composer

Deadpool's planned second outing has met another bump in the road. After director Tim Miller left the team working on the Merc with a Mouth's sequel, composer Junkie XL parts ways with the production.

Citing that without Miller at the helm of the project "does not sit right", Junkie XL, whose real name is Tom Holkenborg) expressed through a post on Facebook his decision not to work with Deadpool 2, as Complex reports. The composer was responsible for providing the soundtrack that went along with one of 2016's breakout movies. He also worked on the musical score for Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and is working with the Justice League movie for 2017.

The recent split between Miller and Deadpool 2 came from "creative differences" with lead actor Ryan Reynolds, who is also a producer of the film. These include the direction of the film and who would be playing the role of Cable. The fall out came during the process of casting Domino, though it was not made clear if it was part of the reason or not.  Miller is now reportedly working on bringing Sonic the Hedgehog to the big screens with a live-action/CG animation adaptation.

Directors David Leitch (John Wick) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) are among the directors being considered to direct the second Deadpool film, according to Screen Rant. There are no updates yet on who would be taking over as the composer for the second film.

The first Deadpool movie centers on the titular character, played by Ryan Reynolds, as he chases on Ajax (Ed Skrein), who claimed he can cure Wade of his deformed figure. It defies conventional superhero origin movies in several ways: by switching back and forth between the origin and the present day, constantly breaking the fourth wall (something that the character is known for), and by being an R-Rated movie, choosing to keep the Merc's violence and explicit language.
