More than a month away of its first deliveries, ordering of the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptors has begun and had been driving traffic to Ford dealerships. Visits to the "build and price configurator" of Ford's website have seen 90,000 hits within just ten days of its opening.
Rob Rosenbach, brand manager for Ford F-150, said on The Ford Motor Media Center that this is the fastest and most popular product launch that they ever had in some time with dealer demand hitting far ahead of expectations. Ford dealers have started taking deposits though deliveries are still more than a month away.
Starting MSRP of the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is at $49,520 but Auto Blog had said that the price may well go as high as $70,000 with the technology package in it. The 450-horsepower truck is built for rough terrains. With twin turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 and its new three-inch shocks with a base valve pistol, it is also built to be more comfortable. The price may just be right.
The Las Vegas based Team Ford Dealership is one of the most successful Raptor dealers in North America. Steve Olliges, owner, told Ford Media Center that he already has 300 customers on a waiting list. He added that he has to turn away other customers because of the allocation limits of the truck.
Ford's website has recorded 90,000 hits in their Build and Price configurator in just ten days. Completed builds are said to be at 30,000 and the most popular features included a 360-degree camera and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with 90 percent take rate for the luxury group. The Raptor with a technology package has 77 percent take rate. The technology package includes lane-keeping system and adaptive cruise control with collision mitigation. Shadow Black is the top choice for the paint color.
