Nintendo's NES Classic was announced to go on sale at Amazon at 2PM on Friday but the demand has been unexpectedly high. Nintendo fans have emptied retailers like Best Buy and Target across the country and made online shops go out of stock for the console.
The NES Classic is a limited edition mini-console that comes with 30 Nintendo games. It perfectly resembles the original and well-beloved console from the 90s but instead of using cartridges, it stands on its own as it can be plugged and play directly on a TV screen. The console retails for USD 59.99 and part of why it is becoming sold out is because Nintendo has not made it available for pre-order leaving many fans rushing to get their hands on it.
The demand for the NES Classic has only been on sale for a few hours but it is already sold out in most retailers and website, Tech Crunch reports. With the coming holidays and the price point of the mini-console, the demand for it is expected to go up.

Where to Get a Nintendo NES Classic Edition Console
So what is your best chance of getting one? Amazon is due to put up its NES Classic stock at 2PM PT, today, Nov. 11. According to Polygon, the online retailer is limiting one mini-console for each customer. The website has also disabled their 1-Click Ordering option to make it fair game for everybody.
Retail stores like Best Buy, GameStop, and Target also sell the Nintendo NES Classic but it depends on their stocks. The Nintendo Store in New York also sells the mini-console during their launch party at 9PM ET and like most stores, the quantities are limited.
Other retailers including Walmart and Toys R Us are expected to sell the NES Classic too but no information about the console can be found on their website. Online marketplaces like eBay may be a good choice for some who don't mind paying extra like a couple hundred dollars to a grand for the limited NES Classic.
