Carrie Fisher was only 19 years old when she filmed the original "Star Wars" movie in 1976. Now 60 years old, Fisher revealed that she had a three-month affair with co-star Harrison Ford who was 33 years old and married with two kids.
Fisher and Ford's "Intense" Affair
The affair, which would have affected both their careers, was kept secret by Fisher for 40 years. Speaking to PEOPLE, the actress who played Princess Leia described the affair with Ford, who played Han Solo as "intense."
She told the magazine that while filming as Han and Leia during their working days, they were just Carrie and Harrison during their off days. The two apparently got together after they celebrated the birthday party for film director George Lucas. The short-lived affair ended once they finished filming the "Star Wars" movie in 1976. Fisher revealed that during their time together, Ford was "kind" to her.
Carrie Fisher's "The Princess Diarist"
In lieu with the news, Fisher is coming out with a new book called "The Princess Diarist" which details her affaird with Ford during that time. Ford was given a heads up of the new book but has not given any public statement regarding it. According to CNN, Fisher's new book also recounts a detailed recollection of what happened behind the scenes during the filming of the first "Star Wars" film.
The outlet adds that in March this year, Fisher had denied any involvement with Ford in the British talk show "The Jonathan Ross Show." Fisher said in the show that she recently found some of her journals from that time and that she has not read through all of it.
