"Fallout 4" developer Bethesda has announced that the PlayStation 4 players may create their own mods in the game. The highly awaited PS4 mod support had people surprised as Sony has delayed their permission for it. While the mod support has been launched, there is a major restriction that may get in the way of the PS4 players full enjoyment.
"Fallout 4" version 1.8 on PS4 Patch Notes, Limitations
Bethesda reports that the version 1.8 update for "Fallout 4" on the PS4 is now launched and it includes mods, mod fixes and mod support. There are currently 191 mods that are supported by the patch and it is expected that more will be added soon.
PS4 players will be able to use the assets that is default in the game but they will not be able to upload external ones of their own mods to the game as they have previously announced before. Furthermore, the limited mod size has increased to 1GB in file size from the former 900MB. For the other console, Xbox One, the mod size is limited to 2GB.
Mod Creation Kit
A new Creation Kit was released last week by Bethesda and through this, players will be able create or modify their own content. You will need to create a Bethesda.net account to be able to access the mods for the game.
According to VG247, PS4 players can't get as creative in "Fallout 4" with mods compared to other platforms. Therefore, it is best to research mods before downloading them as they may not be compatible with the console.
Additionally, the gaming company has announced that their new PlayStation 4 Pro can support both "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim Special Edition" in 4K. This means that the games on the new console will have improved graphics and lighting.
