"Hawaii Five-0" chief medical examiner, Dr. Max Bergman will no longer perform his duty.
Masi Oka was reportedly leaving the CBS show, "Hawaii Five- 0" movie series. He began his regular appearance in Season 2. Entertainment Weekly initially reported his for-good-farewell from the show.
In his character as Dr. Max Bergman, he was a big help in discovering how the delinquencies were committed. He applied his medical proficiency to aid McGarrett and Danny to figure out crimes.
Oka made his first appearance on "Hawaii Five-0" Season 1, then he boarded as a full-time cast the succeeding season.
Oka said, Max's character was greatly accomplished. It was his perception that the character proceeded through a successful expedition "Character-wise, I felt like Max had done too much of everything he can do," he told EW. For these reasons, it was a typical intention for him departing from the show.
The actor, likewise, mentioned how he traveled for the series. The show is being filmed in Hawaii, and this was the influence behind his exit. Oka said that he is the only one who commutes to Hawaii, it was about 18 times round-trip each year. His schedule turned more difficult to sustain with his travel discomfort.
The 13th episode of Season 7 will be the last episode where Oka will be seen. The episode will be aired next year; Max will be going to Africa with his new spouse Sabrina (Rumer Willis).
Alex O'Loughlin also signaled that he will end up his role as Lt. Comm. Steve McGarrett on "Hawaii Five-0" after the 8th season.
"If Alex elects not to come back, that's obviously going to be his choice. But we're moving forward as if the show's going to keep going," showrunner Peter Leskov told TVGuide.com last week. "We've had no conversations with him. ... If it comes to that, there's still life after that character. But nobody's looking forward to that happening. We're all hoping he stays."
Nevertheless, Oka stated that he was not closing doors for the reappearance of his character.
