American Music Awards 2016 Witnesses the Triumphant Return of Selena Gomez; Celebs Support Her

Selena Gomez made a proud return to the spotlight by attending the American Music Awards 2106. Her speech at the moment gathered her ample support from peers.

The famous star won her first AMA and was named Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, on Sunday. With her speech delivered at the winning of the award, she won the hearts of the audience, too.

E! News writes that Selena took a pause in her career in the start of this year. She credited it all to her fans that she has made it back to public and that her fans mean to her a lot. She promised to never let her fans down!

"Thank you guys so much," said Selena with her voice brimming with emotions. She clutched her award and stood confidently in front of the audience.

"In 2014, this stage was actually the first time that I was authentically 100 percent honest with all of you. I think it's safe to say most of you know my life whether I liked it or not. And I had to stop."

 She added, "And I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down."

Us News reports that she delivered a powerful speech, no doubt. How as the reaction of her fellow celebrities? They reacted in a highly encouraging and warm manner.  

Lady Gaga posted a sweet picture of her and Selena on her Instagram. Both stars cuddling! The image captioned: "So dope I got to hang with the biggest rock-star of the night. (Ya, know besides Sting and Green Day) ...the girl with the biggest prize of all a BIG Heart that she shares with the world."

Hailee Steinfeld gave her a warm hug as she walked off the stage.

Taylor Swift wasn't there to congratulate her BFF personally so she posted a video to Instagram of her cheering loudly at the television as Gomez's win was announced.

One Direction's Niall Horan hugged Selena backstage and assured her, "You did so good!"

Samy Ray Dokes tweeted "So proud of Selena Gomez and Niall Official."

Arian almost cried with pleasure when she saw Gomez before the awards and hugged her warmly. She blew her a kiss on delivering a strong speech.

Camila Cabello tweeted that she loved Selena.
